ABC Book Making

Objective:

Students locate objects beginning with a certain letter of the alphabet, cut them out, and glue them to their respective pages in their ABC book.

After all letters have been introduced and when most students are comfortably working to name and identify letter sounds, shapes, names, and beginning sounds, this activity can be introduced whole group, giving students an opportunity to complete one letter page independently.  Once one letter page has been successfully completed, the books and materials are added to the ABC Corner and students are then able to complete subsequent pages in their own time.

Differentiating the Task:

Have students label the items on each page in their ABC book.

Have students write a sentence for each page in their ABC book.
