Reading Workshop Mini Lessons

I have received MANY emails already about this page, and wanted to let you know that it will be a work in progress!  I just have not had time to sit down and work on it in the midst of all the other tasks that I have.  I found out that I was switching grades next year, and so I have even more to do, making it nearly impossible to get all the pre-planned projects done (such as this page).  I hope you understand!  This page will be worked on over the course of the 2007 - 2008 school year.  For now, take a look at Jennifer Jones' Readers' Workshop mini lessons.  They are terrific!  If you have any resources that might be helpful to others, and that could be added to this page, let me know!  I'd be happy to add them.  Just email me.

I highly recommend the following books:

Mosaic of Thought

by Susan Zimmerman and Ellin Keene

Strategies that Work

by Stephanie Harvey and Anne Goudvis

Reading with Meaning

by Debbie Miller

Starting with Comprehension

by Andie Cunningham and Ruth Shagoury

Teaching for Deep Comprehension

by Linda Dorn

Growing Readers

by Kathy Collins

I made these for our 3rd - 5th Grade Title One Teachers and Reading Specialist:

I made these last year for our beginning of the year mini lessons for PARENT homework:

The following is a PowerPoint about mini lessons - - I found it to be very helpful!
