Wake Up Work

When students enter the classroom, they have a series of "jobs" to do.  This time of our day generally takes 10-20 minutes.

             

The routine:

1. Check In, Check Out - Students return reading books and check out new ones.

2. BEE Books - Students check their BEE Books for things that need to be turned in and put their BEE books away.

3. Lunch Box/Bag/Tote - Put it in one of the lunch bin baskets.

4. Pencils - Students get ready for the day by sharpening three pencils.

5. Bathroom - Have to go?  Then go!

6. Drink - Refill water bottles or visit the "bubbler" (that's what most people in northeast WI call a drinking fountain.

7. Chairs, Pillows - Students get ready for the day by taking down chairs/pillows.

8. Daily 5 Choices - Students visit the SMARTboard and make their choices for Daily 5.

9. Drops in the Bucket = Students check to see if a Drops in the Bucket needs to be completed and returned to the bucket.

10. Announcements - Students listen to the daily announcements over the loud speaker, after the pledge.

11. Pledge - Students STOP, STAND, SALUTE, STARE, STAY, and SAY the pledge when we hear it over the loud speaker.

12.  Schedule Review - Students meet at the carpet area in from of the SMARTboard for the schedule review.
